Teacher Training Project

This project involves training teachers in English proficiency, music and accelerated teaching methods, which involves using arts, music, movement and creativity to stimulate learning. Other than just 'talking and chalking on the black board' where children sit and listen quietly, this method stimulates an exciting school environment where learning is fun and extremely effective, and children cooperate together. It boosts self-confidence and creativity.

School Shoes project Sri Lanka

Many rural school children in Sri Lanka lack adequate or any school shoes, especially in the tea plantation areas. As this is a parents' expense and many parents make only $ 90 per month plucking tea, they cannot afford school shoes for their children. Education for Lifetime Foundation has been providing new school shoes for poor children, especially in the cold mountain areas. Lots of children are without school shoes so this project is crucial to the children's well being.

PROJECTS

Tea Plantation Schools Sri Lanka

This project is ongoing among the rural and remote SINHALESE and TAMIL schools on the tea plantations in Sri Lanka. These are isolated schools with difficult access, often using tuk tuk (three wheeler) transport and hiking by foot to reach these remote schools. These are the 'forgotten schools' neglected by the Sri Lankan Government and devoid of necessary school infrastructure such as lighting, technology, facilities, educational resources and amenities

Rural Schools Sri Lanka Art Competitions

The focus of this project is to stimulate art projects in the rural schools that are under served and remote. This involved prize giving and a ceremony to boost self-esteem and creativity amongst the school children
